Here are a couple of pictures of my sewing/craft room. I don't think I'll show you the whole room...or where I paint. LOL And you are definitely not seeing all of my unfinished projects...I say projects...because there are clothes, quilts, dolls, paintings....yep I am a great starter. Not too good at finishing.

RR Recipe Journal

Hi everyone. Here is my RR recipe journal. The cover, the first page and a recipe. I copied the recipe from an old 1940 something cookbook. The book belonged to my Mom. She gave it to me years ago. Believe me they do not make them like this one any more. It even tells you how to set the table. It isn't very artsy. Mostly things from scrap booking...stickers and such. But I have divided it into sections. Snacks, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (yes I am old...we do not have supper at my house we have dinner) and last but best Desserts.

Mary Beth Dressed
This doll is from a workshop I had the privilege to attend a few years ago. The Pattern is Called Mary Beth. It is a Sherry Goshen pattern and, of course, Sherry taught the class. It was a wonderful class and I learned a lot.
I dressed her today. Now she hasn't been naked all this time. She just didn't like what she was wearing. You know how girls are. I was watching TV today and Saw a doll maker altering fabric. Using lots of fibers and free motion quilting techniques. Now I have tried this before. And messed up my sewing machine really bad. Since, that was quite a while ago.... And I didn't remember how painful it was to be without my beloved machine for a while. I decided to try it again. You will see the results in her cape.

before of the Kitchen right side
I am still dragging today...but I got a little sleep last night. OK, it wasn't last night. It was early this morning. Here are a couple of more shots of the kitchen. The right side, with the cabinets, is about to change. I am taking the doors off the upper cabinets. (one door is already taken off) Installing another shelf at the top of the cabinets and putting up curtains instead of doors. On the tops shelves (which the curtains will not cover) I am putting blue and white enamel ware. I am looking for blue, white and yellow plaid curtains or fabric. Wish me luck. So far I have not been able to find what I want. Oh, and a valance for the window over the sink.
Sometime or other there will be after pictures. It depends on finding the right curtains.....

kitchen after
I have very, very tired. But it is done. The kitchen the back hallway and the main hallway are painted. Furniture is back in place. My Sweet, Wonderful, Intelligent, hard working daughter,
Tonya, is amazing. She worked harded than I did. I would never have gotten all of this done in one day without her.

Knitting...I can't stop
I have a love of purses and lately a love of knitting. Here is an almost finished purse...needs lining etc. And one with just the body of the purse knitted. The instructions came form the Knitty Gritty show. The designers name is Barry. For those of you that knit, the pattern is similar to making a dish cloth. They are knitted starting with only 3 knit stiches. And 2 different yarns.

felted purse
I bought a beautiful Pendleton sweater at the Goodwill store. It wasn't in great shape...had a couple of small holes. Total cost about $2.00. I cut it apart and cut out a purse pattern that was a back pack. Sewed it up. Then held my breath when I threw it in the washer. I kept checking on it and when it was approximately the size I wanted it to be. I broke the rules and threw it in the dryer.
It is a Christmas present for my oldest daughter, Tonya. She hasn't seen it yet. Because I forgot to wrap it and take it to our Christmas celebration.

Quilts

Hurray, I finished the quilts. Two rather small quilts for two little girls. One for Jadon and one for Ella. Quilters please do not take a close look. Because I pretty much made my own rules when I made these quilts. My Mother will see them tomorrow (my mother the Quilter)! She will not be too proud of her daughter.

Unsuccessful

Not everything goes as I would like. I knitted three...three..Hats for our youngest granddaughter. None of them fit. I actually followed the pattern when I knitted the first one. Tried it on her...didn't fit. Knitted another one. Added stiches...well you get the idea. They match the afghan I knitted for her. Thank goodness afghans don't have to fit. Just mainly cover the child. Oh, this is a picture of the medium size one. Cute but too small.
