Thanksgiving Day

Do you ever get to old to ride? Maybe you do. Like when your Grandson has to help you on the horse. This is Cody's new horse. She is a 3 yr. old Quarter Horse. She is a sweetie and Cute too. He almost threw me over her back when he was helping me up. I guess I could blame my inability to jump up on her back to the big Thanksgiving dinner I had just eaten.. Yep, I'll blame it on that.

Ella Grace

I should not have left Ella Grace out. She didn't get to go to the Halloween party. Her Mom said she was too little. The people of Central Asia don't celebrate Halloween. But the Americans there did. This was taken before the party. And there is Angela in the picture too...She is the biggest one. Oh can't you just see the mischief in Ella's half closed eyes?

Charms

I now have made a total of 40 charms. Here are just the latest ones. And I think these are the ones that are going to Alaska.

Lady Bug

I am so proud of my son in law, Brian. He made Jadon's Halloween costume.

Artractions

Shelbyville Art Guild sponsored an Art Walk through downtown last Friday night. I was hosted by Mr. Tim Crawford, Lawyer. He made me feel right at home. Thank you Mr. Crawford.

The crowd was light. The weather was a little wet. Not really a great atmosphere for taking a walk. But, the people that braved the weather were friendly and fun to talk with.

I had some note cards made from one of my paintings "Penn's Grocery." This is one of the cards.

Izzy and Bella

Izzy has put on a little weight since we brought her home. Which is a good thing. She loves playing with Bella. And Bella loves playing with her. Bella is over 10 years old..but she acts like a puppy since she got her new friend. We have tried to teach Bella to fetch for at least 8 years. With no luck. I guess Izzy showed her what it was all about. Now Bella will fetch most anything you throw. I guess we couldn't teach an old dog new tricks, but Izzy could.

This is a picture of the girls at play.

Fall and ThanksGiving

This is my one creation for fall and ThanksGiving. The pumpkin is from Joanns...you know the one they advertise as carve-able. I did have fun doing this. Table center piece? Maybe? It will get moved around the house until I think it has found a temporary home.

Christmas Ornaments

More bad pictures. But it will give you an idea of what kind of ornaments I have made lately. Sold quite a few yesterday...so back to making more. I do love to make them. So it will be a labor of love.

Buffalo Festival

That is where I have been today. Here it is October..should be cool, beautiful, weather. Instead it was in the 90s. We baked. Maybe even burned a little. But it was a good day. This festival is held in Stamping Ground, Kentucky. That is where I lived most of my life. It was like old home week. Ran into lots of old friends and many relatives. Sold a few ornaments and made a little money at the same time.

An old Friend of mine, Sue Wash, and some other friends of hers make quilts for charity. They have made 100 quilts in two years. They raffled off a quilt today in order to make money to buy more fabric for more quilts. A lady named Debbie won. I tried to convince her that that was my name...but no luck.

One more craft show and one more art show to go. Then I can start to think about a November birthday and Christmas.. Oh My!

Here are a few pictures taken today. My daughter and her son Cody. My son in law, Patrick and my Mom. We had 4 generations represented today.

Painting finished and another one

I finished the old barn. The other painting is one I taught in class last month. It is of Jackson Lake in Wyoming. I wish I had taken a picture of my students work. It was really good.

Painting in Progress

I'm working to get ready for ARTraction of Shelbyville. I will be sitting a display of art work up at one of the local shops in Shelbyville, KY. As of this moment I do not know which shop or what kind of space I will be given. The event is scheduled for October 26. So, I thought I would share what I am working on today. This barn is on HWY 395 not far from my house.

Oh My! I didn't realize I hadn't posted anything since August. September did go by in a whirl. I was busy, very busy. If I would get better organized and take pictures I could show you what I have been up to. Mostly, up to my neck in Christmas Ornaments.

But this is about Kai's RR journal. I did a less is more on her page. And I like the way it turned out.

Little things

I've been playing with Shrinky Dink. I think the product is geared toward children. But then I am a kid at heart. I used my Big Shot to cut out the tags. Then stamped and embossed and just generally played.

A Sock

I did it. I knitted a Sock. First I bought a really good book. "Getting Started Knitting Socks by Ann Budd" If you have never knitted a sock or want a bunch of cute sock patterns, buy this book. Now, it needs a mate or maybe not. This was a see if I can do it Sock. So now I am ready to start on a pair of socks knit with pretty soft yarn.

Wings

I put this doll up before she got her wings...so now she is finished. Thanks Jacque Uetz for a wonderful doll pattern. And thanks Jean Bernard for a wonderful wing class.

The never ending Yard Sale

Things I learned at the HWY 127 Yard Sale. AKA Country Wisdom.

1. Never try to teach a Pig to sing. It is a waste of time and annoys the Pig.

2. Don't even try to have a battle of wits with and an unarmed person.

3. Give the potential buyer a price...then look them in the eye for 10 seconds (10 seconds is a long time). The next move is theirs.

4. Make prices high enough that buyers think they are buying something really nice or rare. Too cheap they put it down and wonder what is wrong with it.

5. 4 lb Yorkies make Great Greeters.

6. Don't park next to someone that has a singing Deer Head mounted on their RV. (the same thing goes for singing fish)

7. Keep an empty chair next to your outdoor fan. Some really nice people need to sit, rest and cool off.

8. If you are 60 years or older, take young healthy adults with you to help with all that work.

9. Be prepared to get up at 3:00 am. Because high winds and rain can make a real mess of your Show Room.

10. If you don't have an RV. Have really good friends you can borrow one form. (Thanks Linda and Bill) Oh and Tables too.

11. Last but not least. When you are loading the goodies that you bought into your trunk, make sure your daughter has her head out of the way before shutting the trunk lid. Sorry Tonya!!! Mother loves you.
